Yarn Girl Guide Poncho

March 26th, 2006

This is my friend Stella. She and I met around Halloween last year. We found out that we both like glitter very much. Stella is showing us a wonderful poncho from the Yarn Girls Guide, made with “fizz” fringe. Could anything be better??http://noeknit.com/updates/wp-content/uploads/2006/03/IMG_1477rot.jpg

Chocolate Sunday

March 12th, 2006

Chocolate Sunday

We hosted our first Chocolate Sunday today. It was a sweet success. Knitters and non-knitters alike were in attendance for a flight of chocolate from dark to milk to white, and a ‘flavored’ treat thrown in to boot. Karletta, our Chef and Chocolate expert lead the tour. Amazing.

Stunning

February 4th, 2006

The trip was STUNNING. We had a ball! We were on the go from dawn till dusk - with checklists a mile long. There were so many people to meet and so many new yarns to see!
It was wonderful to get ‘the face with the name’. I met some truly wonderful people. Most of the vendors at the show are artists, or entreprueurs, or both. And they are as cool as you would imagine they would be.
Let’s start with Sally Melville.
She was there with her third book: “Book 3: Color”

She is such a good teacher and writer. I was thrilled by the opportunity to meet her and chat with her for a bit. At her suggestion, I drew a map of the bay area on a scrap of paper, and marked where the store was. Who knows, maybe Sally will stop by!!!!

one day and counting

January 18th, 2006

Friday I am flying out to San Diego for TNNA. Its the retailer’s version of “Stitches West”. I am so excited to go!
a. It will be my first three days in a row away since last summer. And, while, yes, I LOVE the store, (love it), it will be nice to be away for a little bit.
b. I cannot WAIT to see all the stuff at the show. I am anxious to see some of the groups/yarns that do not have reps yet. Buttons, handles, hand dyed yarns…
c. Mom is coming with me!!! This is a world class Mother-Daughter working/buying trip! Could anything be better?
d. In the eveining hours, when our “dogs are barking” - we will be in the hotel with bubble water, playing high stakes card games. (.05 cents per game! )

Cannot WAIT.
My camera is broken, so I have nothing to post. But if I did, you’d just see a picture of a yarn girl blurry with excitment.

Happy New Year!

January 3rd, 2006

newYear.jpgThe Holidays were amazing! It was wonderful to see so many happy knitters! Both giving and recieving! We saw some AMAZING projects just before they packaged and given away.

Here is the knitting fairy visiting me. She is wearing a halo of yarn, and she let me wear one too! We had fun looking at color that day!

Happy knew year! We look forward to seeing you soon!
